The Diaper Series

Yeah sure, sometimes you wake up all sleep deprived. And then you look over at your kid and you think, OMG he is so cute and then he smiles at you and all of a sudden, you can't wait to start the day again.

These were taken on one such morning. Click here for the "Diaper Series".

Mother's Day

Funny little holiday this Mother's Day. It was originally conceived by a woman named Anna Jarvis of West Virginia who held a memorial to her mother two years after her death. Thereafter she launched a campaign to make "Mother's Day" a recognized holiday and succeeded when Woodrow Wilson declared it a national holiday 1914. But, by the 1920s, Anna become disenfranchised by the commercialization of the day and she and her sister spent their family inheritance campaigning against the holiday. Both died in poverty.

Well, anyway, the sentiment of Mother's Day still lives on globally and the recognition of Moms everywhere never goes out of style. This weekend was my first Mother's Day and it was a wonderful one.

Tom, Jack, Stella, and I had a picnic in Golden Gate park under a cloudless blue sky and lots of warm sunshine. Jack was busy conspiring with Tom to get me some little luxuries and time off from Mom-duty with gift certificates for a massage and pedicures. And evidently Jack was also busy conspiring with my own Mom to send the most beautful flowers blooming in all shades of purple, white, and pale green. Several friends texted. I couldn't think of a better day.
