Stella Turns 3

April 17th was a wonderfully sunny short-sleeve tee shirt day for Stella's third birthday. We made our second annual pilgrimage to Dogfest in nearby Duboce Park to help Stella celebrate. Jack had some fun too in the jumpy house and with the hula hoops.

After a few tosses of the frisbee, a visit to the mobile Doggie Spa, and an al fresco lunch, Stella was one tired doggie who needed some help in the last couple of blocks as we headed home for a Happy Birthday snack and naps all around.

Check out the video below for Jack wishing our good girl a Happy Birthday.

The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades

Summer's coming which means it will continue to be 60 degrees until September, but at least it will be bright and sunny and you won't remember the last time it rained. And with all that sun, we got Jack a new floppy hat and some baby sunglasses. We have a 50/50 that he will wear the glasses in the long term, but in the short term he is really digging them. So much so that we had breakfast last weekend wearing our sunglasses.

Sunday Dinner

We went out to dinner last night along the Embarcadero which is like a flat boulevard with stunning views of the Bay. After dinner we went for a leisurely stroll to walk off our Thai food before getting back home on the train.

Downward Dog

Stella is turning 3 in a week and we just can't get enough of our little (55 pound) girl. Like many of us, she has a hard time waking up in the morning and gets out of bed with the same yoga stretch each day.

Swinging Duo and Solo

Recently Jack has wanted to try out the big-boy swing instead of the bucket-style that's for the younger kids. He still needs some balance to master going very fast or high, so in the meantime, it's a safe ride with Dad.

Auntie's Brunch

Jack has two Auntie's that he adores and we all went to brunch a couple of weeks ago as a sort of post-birthday event for Jack. We met Mindy's friends Christabel (Jack's self-proclaimed "Favorite Auntie C") and Linda (who we affectionately call LindaR because her last name starts with "R") at 2223 and they helped usher in Jack's second year with hugs and kisses over hot cinnamon rolls with extra frosting and corned beef hash.

Bunnies Go Nite Nite

One of the tricks we employ to get Jack to lay down and go to sleep is to lay down his bunnies in his crib to demonstrate that they are going to sleep too.
